Cheshire Cat: If I were looking for a white rabbit, I’d ask the Mad Hatter. Alice: The Mad Hatter? Oh, no no no… Cheshire Cat: Or, you could ask the March Hare, in that direction. Alice: Oh, thank you. I think I’ll see him… Cheshire Cat: Of course, he’s mad, too. Alice: But I don’t want to go among mad people. Cheshire Cat: Oh, you can’t help that. Most everyone’s mad here.  Cheshire Cat: You may have noticed that I’m not all there myself.

Over the years I have made many friends. Some have come and gone, and many have stayed. What I have learned from my relationships with my friends is that you be there when you can and they’ll understand when you really can’t, and they’ll be there for you as long as you understand when they really can’t. People tend to need other people, and I’m glad I have a group of friends that we can mix up and have fun with. I got lost in having one best friend and forgot what it was like to have several. Once I unhooked myself from my former BFF, I found so many things to do with all my other friends. I love my friends as well as all the other people I socialize with, including my family.

I have never been so excited about getting a tax return. I was bummed this whole time and wasn’t looking forward to it because I thought I would have to turn half of it over to medical bills. Thankfully that isn’t the case.

This year I’m getting much more back than I thought I would. Plus, it’s the first year that we don’t have any renovations going on at our house. The plans this year will be very different and possibly frivolous. I know my husband wants a racing suit and helmet, but I haven’t even THOUGHT about what I would do. Wow. Just wow.

The weekend is nearing, as is my birthday, and today, I finally got the exciting anticipation for what the weekend brings. I’m suppose to be in Chemistry class right now, but I’m claiming birthday status and skipping today. Once I made the decision that rush of “oh my gosh, my birthday is here” came over me. This is how it usually goes, I do whatever I want the whole weekend. So this year the weekend starts now. I’m having lunch with my sister Summer, and after Mack gets out of class we are making Valentines. Then later tonight, I’m going to trivia night. It’s going to be fun, I can feel it. I’m shedding my worries and spending the weekend celebrating me and my life. Who knows what I’ll be doing all day tomorrow. I know that around 1 I’ll be in Mack’s class helping with their party, but before? I’m hanging in my PJ’s, playing on the computer probably, or I might finish one scrapbook and start another! Yeah, starting my Disney scrapbook sounds fun and will carry my excitement out til March!

The birthday season has started. Because after this, it’s Cazic’s that we will be having his Phineas and Ferb party AND going Animal Kingdom. After that, Easter followed by Mack’s Candy Land party and a trip to SEA WORLD! I’m such a little kid. I love this part of the year, and I’m glad that little spark has me excited about all that is coming up.

As each birthday approaches for me, I tend to have plans formed to have a great weekend. As of right now, I just have plans to go to a jewelry party, and drink. And those plans are just from 5pm til the break of dawn starting Saturday. I feel like I have slacked and forgotten to do the usual hype of plans all weekend. This is seems like this will be the first quiet birthday for me in years. What to do? I think I’ll make breakfast plans with my children. Possibly IHOP. They like going there. Mack knows its one of my favorite places. You would think Mack was more excited about my birthday than I was. She has informed almost the entire town that my birthday is Saturday. She told me she wanted to have a tea party for me, but I’m not going to hold her to it.

Well, I guess I should start thinking more about this weekend. No plans for Vday, no day plans for my birthday, I’ll get right on that.

Superbowl

Our smallest party of the year happened this past Sunday. It was Superbowl Sunday! The mighty Colts versus the triumphant Saints. It was the first time the Saints had ever played in the Superbowl. Glad to say they walked away with a well deserved win. We invited many over, but only people actually interested in either the game or the commercials. The kids ran amuck outside for the most part, until it was too dark. We placed the usual layout in the living room: A cooler full of beer, a trash can for the bottles, and crammed seating to fit as many people as possible into one room. We filled the kitchen with chili made by CJ, all sorts of chips, crackers, and other snacks, along with some delicious queso that Rae made. As the night went on families with school age children parted ways to head home for the little ones to get tucked in bed. With few left behind, we stayed up to watch the final plays of the game. A watery-eyed Damon got calls from his family in Louisiana and Texas about the excitement flowing into the streets. I’m sure with Mardi Gras around the corner, the party won’t stop any time soon.

Spent Saturday night out with some girlfriends. It was our friend Jesse’s birthday. We loaded up and traveled to Dave & Busters. This was my first trip there, and I was as happy as a kid headed to Chuck E. Cheese. I disappeared for a little while and upon my return my friends saw my arms filled with tickets. I loaded up on tickets playing a token game that became the crack of arcade games for me. Our early departure was due to Jesse’s drunkenness that the cop took notice to. The officer stopped Jess and told her to put the drink down and that he wanted to see her and BobbiSue’s designated driver. So of course, happy peppy Rae walked over and introduced herself while holding her cup of coffee. Jess and B headed outside to sit out by the van and wait for the rest of us to cash in and head home. Gobs of tickets, over a dozen shot glasses, and some mixed drinks later we all headed home.

Children=laughter

Recently on the way home, Cazic informed me that his teacher said he was “hard headed.” “Momma, Mrs. Williams says I’m hard headed.” Mack and I almost died laughing and Cazic quickly said to us “Girls! Girls! Why are you laughing? I’m just talking about being hard headed!” After I calmed my self from the second wave of laughter I asked Cazic, “Cazic, what does hard headed mean?” “Mrs. Williams says it means soooo baaad!” (2/4/10)

Pure Genius

So it’s Thursday night, and that means it’s trivia night at Beef O’ Brady’s. This is the second week in a row that I’ve gone. I enjoy it alot. It’s fun, keeps your mind going. Plus I often have an answer. I love challenges and I love games. Tonight, after 2hours of playing, not only did our team win free round of beer next week, but we won second place! That’s right baby, 2nd. You might laugh but the prize is a $25 gift certificate. The plan is to save up the gift certificates and add up checks one night and use the winnings to pay. Sounds good. Well, once we got home the kids quickly went to bed, and now i’m going to log to hang out with my hubby and do what we do.

I have to admit, I did procrastinate longer after I made my last post. I know, I know, I didn’t do what I said. Oh well, I don’t care. I finished the paper anyways. Yeah, that’s right! It’s DONE! I didn’t proof read it, but I probably won’t anyways. I knew I could do it in minutes, its just getting me to do what I have to do rather than what i WANT to do.
